🛋️ Emirates is committed to improving passengers’ in-flight experience

Originally, EK planned to update the interior cabin decoration of up to 120 aircraft and make improvements to all classes. The original plan was for 67 A380s and 53 B777s to be fully modified. At present, the B777 is still the main aircraft model on many EK routes, and the A380 superjumbo aircraft is the favorite of passengers (according to Emirates, they even plan to fly the A380 into the 2040s!). Through this cabin upgrade program, Emirates aims to continue to provide a premium travel experience.

So far, 22 A380s have been refurbished. The first refurbished A380, registration number A6-EVM, has completed its first flight from Dubai-DXB to London Heathrow-LHR in January 2023. It showcases Emirates' latest cabin design, including 56 Premium Economy seats in the main cabin. First- and business-class seats in the second-level cabin are upholstered in luxurious cream leather and light wood finishes.

There are a total of 332 seats in four classes, giving passengers more choices. To make room for new premium economy seats, 50 seats in economy class will be reduced. Emirates will launch premium economy seat service for the first time in 2022, initially only on its busiest A380 routes.

The entire cabin modification program is managed and constructed in-house at Emirates’ own engineering centres. A total of more than 250 project staff and 31 key partners and suppliers are working continuously inside and outside the facility to ensure the smooth delivery of the refurbished space.
